How To Chemically Clean Sand

Backwash the filter (refer to instructions)
Shut system off
Remove pump dome lid anti) pour filter cleaner into pump, replace lid
Put multi-port lever to "backwash" position and turn system on
When pump primes (running) and filter cleaner granules are gone and water in pump dome is clear, turn system off immediately (do not backwash filter cleaner solution away)
Leave system off for 24 hours, then turn system on with multi-port lever in backwash position and backwash thoroughly
Shut system off, return multi-port lever to filter position and continue normal operating procedure
